A magnificent, highly structural native evergreen tussock forming a perfectly symmetrical, weeping green dome. Features wide, clean, arching bright green leaf ribbons. From summer to autumn, it is heavily crowned with spectacular, horizontal nodding green-yellow plumes.

Growing Conditions

Soil

Well-drained, poor, sandy, gravelly, or dry clay soil.

Sunlight

Full sun yields the densest shape and heaviest flower plume display.

Flower

Elegant, horizontal pale greenish-cream flower plumes in summer.

Chionochloa flavicans is an elegant, tufted grass that is well-adapted to varied conditions and brings brightness.
